Many customers use liquid fuels as a backup to gas as their primary fuel. GASMARK also will supply liquid fuels as part of a “BTU Swap”. By participating in a BTU Swap, customers contract for a fixed number of BTU’s at a fixed price. If an alternate fuel price dips below the contract price, the customer may buy that fuel at the lower price, and GASMARK will sell the higher-priced fuel back into the market. The net proceeds from the sale are returned to the customer. By using a swap the customer not only uses the lower priced energy, but he earns a profit on the price spread between the commodities.
